Hi,
Selenotypus stridulating organ.

The strikers (the black thornlike bristles at the base of the chelicerae):



And the lyra (the black patch of uniquely shaped bristles):

Here is the stridulating organ from a closely related species.

In this species you can see the strikers are far more pronounced and are several rows deeper then the ones in the first set:



The lyra however are very similar:

Great Pic's Steve i wondered what the Selenotypus organ looked like as arndsti had been there, i don’t see any visible short lyra on ether sp but the size and shape of the striker patch on the second Selenotypus look a lot like the drawing of the arndsti female type's one.
