I have the best friends in the world. Most are terrified of my Ts. Last night one called and told me the following. "I have a T for you and I need help!" T language is so infectious. "He's in a box and I don't know what to do!" I calmed her down and asked for details. We live in the AZ desert as many of you know so they are all over now, looking for love.
She said, "I came home and saw this HUGE T in my driveway. There was a skunk walking toward it and it was going to eat it! I knew you'd never forgive me if I let that happen so, (here is the best part) I chased the skunk away from it! I kept chasing it down the driveway until it left but it wasn't happy with me, I knew it wanted that T. So I have this T for you, now what do I do?"
I knew it must have been an A chalcodes mature male and after asking for more details knew I was right. After having already been given two last week and with only one mature female, I gently told her what his story was and said the best thing to do was let it go its way.
"What?!? I was so courageous too, it came after me but didn't do that stand up thing so I figured I was ok." The first T of mine she saw was an OBT and upon introduction, he promptly gave a ramrod straight threat display. That sent her flying over the couch across the room. Now, my friend is a good 5' 10" and "Orbit" my OBT is about 5". Still, it was impressive, I must admit.
So, with care not to release it anywhere near the skunk my friend assured me she would set Mr. A Chal free. All I can see in my mind is her running down her driveway after the skunk and trying to capture an animal that scares her to death. And all to protect a T she knows I love.
Like I said, I have the best friends in the world.
