The last couple times I've been volunteering at the phx zoo. In phx, I don't know if any other zoo's do this but in phx they have whats called zoo lights. Thats nothing but just a bunch of lights like over 2 million lights. I show up around 5p.m. stay there till 10p.m. Yesterday was the last day zoolights was going and so I thought that maybe I should get a couple snap shoots. But don't you think that my camera ran out of batteries? But I did get a couple shoots.

there wasn't that many more things to look at, Just the dwarf camin and the flamingo's and thats it.
Yesterday I was an animal keeper for the rabbits in the petting zoo. Only I could handle the rabbits and no one esle. It was pretty cool being an animal keeper I got like this necklace that said animal keeper on the bottom.
Had a great time doing this,

Very cool, Sam. I really like the naturalistic setups the animals have there. Some of the older setups at the Denver Zoo are pretty bare and not very visually appealing. But as far as I know, they are working on making those setups more naturalistic. When you get the chance, take some more pics of the other critters, especially the herps if your zoo has 'em.

Nice job BigSam. How is the Phoenix Zoo overall? I've only been to the World Wildlife zoo near Whitetanks. Keep up the volunteer work if you want to work in a zoo eventually. Volunteering/work in a smaller zoo pays big in the long run if you want to work in one of the larger zoos. Keep it up!

I'm surprised you support the Zoo Lights. A friend of mine works at the Phoenix Zoo and most workers detest the impact all the noise and lights have on the animals. It is such a media show. I went one time thinking it would be a quiet walk through the park with soft lights but the music was blasting, the lights were overpowering...it was not at all pleasant. I felt sick in fact for how they must be torturing the animals. Then I met a man who works there as one of the animal caretakers and he said is stresses out the animals so much, they dread it every year.
