I few of the threads got me thinking about my first T and I thought it would be cool if a bunch of people would post pics of their own first T's. Recent pics, pics when you got it, or any other randomness is accept... even scorps and pedes if you want.

Here's my little guy before he molted MM (obviously a G. rosea):

And here is my girlfriend's first T who I think might have been old when we bought it because it stopped eating 10 months after purchase, it's body became worn and beaten looking even though the coloration showed no signs of premolt, and it slowly wasted away and died by its twelfth month with us. I still have no real idea why it died (A. seemani):

OK here it is...my first T. :8o To this day we do not have a complete positive ID on it. We had been out for a walk with the dog and upon our arrival back home, there in the middle of the kitchen stood this black T. We live in the high desert of San Diego County and wild creatures are not foreign to us. Unfortunately He didn't last long. But due to his adventure into our house, he sparked an addiction to T's. (oh! And by the way, he was very docile, as you can tell by my 2 year old holding it). Thanks for posting a thread to bring back good times!!:D :D

That's about the leggiest male I've ever seen! Is it safe to assume that it's an Aphnopelma sp.?

:embarrassed: I held that T for days, for long periods of time without the slightest sign of aggression, before I gave in to my daughter wanting to hold it.
Isn't handling a personal choice?

I have to agree! He sure looks like an Aphnopelma sp. :worship: We searched the web for ID and even talked to Stan Schults trying to figure him out. Well he was a great T. May he rest in peace!
:D

My boy.

Yes, my first T ever was an impulse-buy Bluefang from Swift. The first picture is from right when I was unwrapping him when I first got him. The second picture is from one molt ago. I've had him for about a year now, and let me tell you, the sun shines out of his little green butt. {D

This is my G. rosea, Tari.

This is my background picture on my computer at work. It's led to some inquiries about Ts as pets and have had some positive feedback.

My first t was my a. chalcodes, this is her after her first molt with me. :) She's still my favorite t (I have seven now). I don't handle but if I did, she's the one I'd start with. She's very docile. :)
