Ok, the story of my new tarantula (a 4 or 5" B. Smithi) is not all that epic, but its a story worth the telling anyway...
It all started about a month ago when I purchased a B. Smithi sling from a man online. I waited day in and day out for that sling to arrive but for some reason or another something would push the delivery of my spider back. Well my sling finally arrived and I vowed that I would raise it to be the greatest most awesomest pet spider ever!!! Well over the weekend it died...
So I began my quest to find a new B. Smithi, the spider of my dreams. Well, about a week or so after I first got the sling, I found a B. Smithi adult at a very nice pet store not 30 minutes from where I lived. Naturally the spider was high priced ($80) and I was immediately jealous... Well, a month later, after my sling died, I decided to check back with the nice people of that store to see if they still had a B. Smithi for sale. They did... and it was the same one from a month before! Even better still, the T had molted and the dull orange colors from a month prior, gave wave to a beautiful dark red... Needless to say, I got that tarantula boxed up and I took it home with me.
That was today, and I hope Red and I can live happily ever after. THE END...
