Does anyone know how much music effects herps?Does it stress them out very much?I ask this because I used to be very into herps when I was younger and have recently had the chance to start keeping them again. My animals will be kept in my room where I usually have music going at a pretty good volume and I was wondering if this would be a problem?

The music shouldn't effect your herps at all. They can't hear in the same sense we can. The bones in their ears pick up vibrations in the ground. Unless you had your stereo bumping or it was on the same shelf as the herp's enclosure it shouldn't have any effect on them. I have all my animals in my bedroom and I too play loud music

Troy,
You are thinking snakes. Lizards can pick up airborne sounds. In fact many species of geckos use vocalizations to communicate (e.g. barking geckos and geckos of the Rhacodactylus genus).

Highlander,
You are exposing them to sounds that are not found in their enviornment. I'm sure this causes some degree of stress. How much depends on how loud it is and how long they are exposed to it. Keep an eye on them. If you see a change in behavior or appetite after ruling out husbandry, food, temperature, etc., then I would look into the music as being a factor.
