there is a guy whose selling a 'starter' colony kit of emps on the for sale section and he showed pics of his, and theres a ton of emps in a container.
and the guy i buy scorpions off of has a 80+ colony of 4i-5i babycurus jacksonis, along with their adult counterparts
I had a colony of 70 C. Gracilis before I sold them all off (56 3rd instars, 6 2nd instars, and 8 mature adults) I currently have a colony of 16 3rd instar H. Longimanus and will be starting a colony of 5 L. Mucronatus this week.
I always remove the babies to seperate tanks, if not I'd have had a few 100 plus colonies. My Grosphus grandidier has produced big broods (40+) babies twice in the last year. If I kept them all in one tank, it would b scary. Maybe I'll throw a few Tityus Stigmurus in a 40 gallon tank filled with all kinds of cork, and an endless supply of food. I bet in three years you could be up to several hundreds.
Anyways I'd like to see some pictures of big colonies.
I once had a colony of 20+ Babycurus jacksoni (Adults and sub-adults)....But sold most of them off. :unhappy:
I would like to start another colony of scorpions, most likely the emperors, but given the circumstance I'm currently in I just don't have the time and resources to maintain one.
