so theres alot of good information on here but you have to do alot of searching around..as infamous as this species is there should be a good strong thread on them fellow inverters..lets make this easier for others on here and keep this thread going!!!! ill share what information i know but PLEASE! PLEASE!! contribute your experiances, stories, any information you have possible that i have not said as i dont know fully about them and theres always new things to learn about this magnifigant species...:geek: as far as i know these are a desert dwelling species and possibly one of if not the hottest scorpion(s) to keep..they like really hot temps. id say 75-90 degrees is an idel temperture to keep them as there a desert dwelling species.. they like to build their own burrows but will easily adapt to well placed hides usually ones they can eventually burrow under work fine ive seen alot of different mixtures of substrate(s) but i find that sand works good as there from the desert, ive also heard they can as ADULTS live communally but i dont keep mine together as their reputation does not proceed them and they will prey on an easy meal if given the chance especially if another 'tank mate' is in molt so to avoid any mishaps id recommend seperate living quarters, and MOST scorpions (this is one of them) are very territorial, they will attack another scorpion if they feel an invasion of space.. i feed mine once a week a cricket or dubia, meal worm, etc. about the same size some times a wee bit bigger than the body so i can know they are full and wont go hungry if i have to be away for a few days.. a shallow water bowl ie; a plastic bottle cap acording to the size of your pet, i keep the tank really dry to avoid any disease(s) mycosis is usually one that occurs if humidity is a problem but other things may occur to, none that ive ever delt with as i THINK i properly take care of my buggers:biggrin: so a vented enclosure wouldent be a bad idea.. i give them plenty of space to roam around..i keep mine in about a 15-20 gallon tank (just two with a divider) but a critter keeper acording to size works fine if just keeping one, and they seem to be happy with that.. ive had no bad experiance(s) keeping them with the little information i know and just wrote.. and I think thats all there is (at least a basic understanding of this species) ive yet to breed them but i hope to do so in the near (hopefully VERY soon) future so i can share my experiance(s) with how that went..so if any of you out there can fill in any information ive missed (AND I KNOW THIS ISNT ALL TO KEEPING THEM) please feel free to do so out of the kindness of your heart (if you all have one ) i my self am looking for more information about breeding them... but fellow inverters and keepers of this species please contribute to this thread all you know about them, that would be great help for myself and others seeking general knowledge or basic information for those seeking to get this beautiful species..im not saying begainers go get a leiurus quinquestriatus and try to keep one off of the information i just posted as this is not a begainner type of scorpion..but any information and basic understanding(s) of this species would be great! and i know you guys and gals are out there with the knowledge so with that being said post up people! and have a happy time inverting and an evan happier time sharing your knowledge much love peoples lets spread the positivity!
