That's hilarious. I've had my BP since summer '05, and I don't think the cost of buying him, having him shipped, setting up his ten-gallon tank, setting up his twenty-gallon tank, regularly buying large sacks of aspen shavings, and two winters being treated by the vet for mild respiratory infections (which I paid for a taxi to get there because I didn't have a car) COMBINED cost that much.

Maybe if I throw in the cost of every prey item I've ever bought it might come close. Might even break 450 a bit, I'm not the best at math.

But that's...wow.

Three of my ball pythons cost me $0-$20. The fourth is a pastel male which I paid $100 for. The babies live in RUBBERMAIDS with spartan "cage furniture" and the big girls live in 20 gallon longs that I got for less than $20 each from a garage sale.

$450 is just ABSURD. lol I don't think I have spent that on all for of my snakes in the past 2 years. lol

I just sent the girl an email and asked her how much the snake is without the cage and she told me $350.

yea, a 200 gal new wholesales for around 120, and retails around 300-400. a used tank i would pay maybe 100 used (i got mine for free and now have a nurse shark{D ) no reason that the tank would jack it up to 450. if shipping was included in the 450 you might have a rational offer b/c of the size and weight of the tank. rational but not reasonable enough to buy

ill try, but she is crafty, none of the pics ever come out cause she knows the camera and either hides or moves too fast, she does live with a Queen angel who poses for pics

I check craigslist a few times a day for snakes and supplies. Sometimes I see some some really overpriced stuff. At least once a month someone is trying to sell a 10 gal. tank for over $100.
Of course there's some nice bargains too. I picked up a beautiful wood snake tank last weekend for $20. :D

A dollar a gallon is fair for any large tank in good shape. but I have more like $0.40 a gallon in all of my tanks.
