So, I was planning to buy another Emperor scorpion at Petco today, but they only had three, all of which were only about 3" long total, and wouldn't coexist with my 5" boy very well. They had five tarantulas in (1 Mexican fire leg, 2 Chilean Rose, 1 Pink toe, and 1 OBT) and none of them interested me enough into purchasing. Then I got to the leopard geckos...and they had JUST gotten in some hatchlings, most of which were shedding for apparently the first time. There were tons of them...maybe 12 total? Each was about 3" long at most. The very first one I set eyes on was shoving the others around, clearly one of the most dominant among them. I asked an employee to have a look at him, and as soon as he saw the hand, the tiny gecko hissed and bit the employee! I was immediately in love with the little guy. So, I asked my mom, she gave in, and I bought the tiny thing. I'm not sure on the color morph yet, but I know that his markings are "Jungle".

I named him Adonis <3 He's now my third leopard gecko, hopefully also a male, which will make him my 3rd male as well. I'll try to get some pictures of him once he finishes shedding. When I got my other two (Pan and Ares) they were about 4" long, and are now about 9" and 6" long.

Adonis' eyes are very interesting, they are almost solid black except a beautiful light light light blue just around the pupil. He looks very pale yellow (almost white) with the Jungle pattern being super dark brown, almost black. I'm not 100% sure that he's Jungle though, I didn't notice if it went onto the tail or not, but I think it does.

Make sure he has a moist hide or else he may lose a few fingers when he sheds. They WONT grow back. Just get paper towels, wet them, and put them in the container you bought him in. Let him get nice and moist so the skin will loosen up. The shed is suppose to come off all at once and in one sitting. Also, let him eat the shed. It's normal

*chuckles* I do appreciate the advice, but just letting you know that I already have two other leos. I've put together a damp hide and he's been in it all night. Most of the stuck skin came off, so his toes are all safe for now, and the skin came off of his back and tail. Now he just has a piece stuck to his right under-arm/leg. I also noticed this morning that he has a very small cut between his eyes. It's not deep enough to bleed, and doesn't seem to be bothering him too much. I'll just keep an eye on it to make sure it heals up just fine.

My "giant" boy (10" at 6 months old and still growing fast!) always eats all of his shed, but my other boy (same age as the 10" but only 6.5" long) never eats much of it. Seems Adonis is gonna eat all of his skin :)

How much was it? The adults around here are 100 dollars...
Holy profitable lizard industry, Batman! I should be breeding those like mad so I can sell them to you! They are waaaaayyyy cheaper in Florida, our LPS has numerous morphs in the 40-50 range at most, usually less. Normals are really cheap. Beardies and Crested Geckos too. I remember when cresties first became big on the market and were $100+, now you can buy them for $20-30 just about anywhere here.
