Boa Constrictor (member) came to my house today for pre herp season planning. We went and moved some boards around in the local herp spot. I have been trying to get my mom to say yes to a T for along time and he told her how they are quite and peaceful. When he left I asked her if I had good 3rd quarter grades if I can get a T she said yes!!!!!!!! I think I want an Acanthoscurria geniculata, a P. murinas, or C.fasiatum. ( I think I butchered those names) I can't wait!!

P. murinus: great, feisty (you'll get to chuckle at some threat displays and whatnot), tough as nails. Problem is they're prone to hiding in their webbing so you don't see them often.

A. geniculata: The hungriest T I've ever had. These things will probably eat until they explode. Who doesn't like to watch a T annihilate crickets? They're also always out in the open where you can see them. They are handleable. They are tough. I can't really think of any negatives.

C. faciatum: Never had one, can't comment.

I think i will get a genic. then a murinas.
P. murinus is dirt cheap--they breed like rabbits. If you're buying a genic from a dealer ask him if he'll toss in a freebie OBT sling. No reason you can't have both.

I love my C. faciatum beautiful T. and fun to watch eat and move they move a little faster then most Ts and colors stand out better on moss then bark IMO so they are one of the only Ts I keep with moss. I keep the temp a little warmer with C. faciatum then other Ts and try to keep it a little more humid I mist daily and the moss helps keep the it humid also. Im about to start a breeding project Ive got 5 females 3-4" and one more lg female on the way soon. only one MM though but he is full of energy.

C. faciatum is without a doubt the most beautiful T around (just my opinion) and they are insanely aggressive eaters. And mighty quick so it if fun to see them pounce on prey. Granted they will never be bigger than a medium sized rosehair, but they are still great T's.

OBTs are great spiders, so I reccomend getting one. Amazingly, mine is quite docile, although this is not the norm.

GO genic!

An inexpensive slaughter house but docile to the touch! They are also harder to come by than fasciatum or murinus. Glad your mom is allowing all this!
Good luck!
