Initially I was hesitant to buy this species as my first huntsman. I’m glad I took the leap! She’s absolutely stunning

Question: it’s been 7 days since she last ate and her abdomen is still very plump. She’s about 2” DLS and I’m not sure if I should space out her feedings more… or if this is a normal size abdomen for a huntsman. Thanks!

Beautiful specimen! What do you feed her, and how large are the food items?

Okay. I would say that she does look very round, but your feeding regimen sounds fine. Have you considered the possibility of her being gravid?
I hope someone with more experience can chime in; I don't know the most about huntsman spiders.

She’s not fully grown yet. I think she’s going to get around 8”? So she has a lot of growing to do.

Oh, I completely forgot how big these grow... 🤦
In that case, it could be premolt.

Looking them up there a possibility of multiple species being sold/known as the same common name. The first one got 12” in the search but that’s not the one in the hobby.

Wish I knew more about them , but I can’t get anything this fast until I can afford to move out. That’s a giant spider maybe light weight compared to tarantulas. But wow 🤯

Yeah, that really confused me as well.

Same; I always love seeing them at expos. But these are too fast to keep in my bedroom just in case something happens.
