As in topic - spider found in Thailand, close to Myanmar border.
Latrodectus sp?

Wow, how gorgeous! I believe that L. elegans is the only species found in that area, but I am no expert! I do want that spider though...

ooo, love it! these give me the tinglies! i just barely missed my chance to breed this species back in the day :(

yes, this is definitely L. elegans (aka "sp. laos" aka sometimes referred to as the "hellfire widow"). i'm stoked you got a picture with the sac. elegans produces a spiked sac (similar to geometricus) and this helps distinguish it from the other species!!

Latro has always amazed me. The Hasselti in Aus, far removed from other species, the Asian Elegans, the varieties in the Americas and so forth. It circles the globe long before transportation was available.

The million doughnut question is, where did it originate? The arachnid version of the Big Bang?
