Hello, I have found this forum to be very useful and interesting. I finally was able to get pictures of my tarantulas so I decided to register and post them.

The first two are of my first tarantula. The store said it was a Chilean rose but I highly doubt that. I was wondering if one of you fine fellows could help me identify it.

The third is of my semi-recently bought G. rosea. The third is of my even slightly less recently A. avicularia.

The *unknown* and rosie are both males and I have yet to sex the pinktoe. I also have yet to give them names...mainly because I'm picky with names...

Welcome to the forum!

You're right - the first spider isn't G. rosea, but I won't even hazard a guess as to what it may be. Good luck with it. ;)

I think it's a Chilobrachys species but hard to say which species cause many of them are brown ones.

Yes I agree it looks like a Chilobrachys. Typical long spinnerets, but sadly it's far from enough to make a decent guess, even at the genus I think.

Funny how some petdealers will label anything as G. rosea these days, everytime they just don't know what species it is in fact. The fact that they come from two vey different parts of the world, only makes it even more sad.

Anyway I like your spider, it looks well fed... also typical of Chilobrachys to be greedy and constant eating. :)
