I saw this ad on the internet. Said "Texas Tailless Whipscorpion (Phrynus sp.) 1". Does this sound familiar to anyone out there. Would it be in the Big Bend region? Or is there such a thing?

I will have to look again for the site. Not much info. Just said "Texas Tailless whipscorpion (Phrynus sp.) 1 inch" and a price. It was pretty cheap. I know there is a medium size one in Florida but haven't heard of a medium sized one in Texas. I have seen very small ones in West tx. Very small. Body maybe .5 centimeters. Someone I know said they were at Big Bend in W. tx and saw something on the wall in a cabin that looked like half of a scorpion without a tail. He said the body was 2 to 3 inches long. He caught it and let it go outside the cabin. He is not into inverts. So I'm having a hard time getting a good description from him. I showed him a Vinegaroon and he said "nope, that wasn't it." He said it looked like the front half of the Vinegaroon but 2 to 3 inches long. I'm still trying to figure out what he saw. Sure sounds like an Amblypygi to me but seems like I would have heard of a big one that exists out there since I've been interested in this stuff for a while. This is how rumors get started. It was probably something common....but, he said he had never seen anything like it. He's about 40 years old so he has been around long enough to see a few things. It's buggin me. I am going out there maybe this year. Next year for sure to look for stuff...anything. If the price of gas isn't $10.00 a gallon!
