Texas Indigo Snake question

I live in California, but I'm considering moving to Texas. I'd read that there were protected there, so I was trying to find out if it's okay to buy them in the state or if you have to buy them out of state.where do you live?
i know you can keep them in florida.
NO! It is not illegal to keep Texas Indigos but you DO HAVE TO HAVE A PERMIT. We have Easterns so we only had to get permits to move them across state lines. If you are buying a Texas from someone in Texas, you need a permit to keep them. If you are buying a Texas from someone out-of-state, you need both permits.
EDIT: btw, the permit for transferring them over state lines is around $100 but you can add multiple snakes to that permit should you be buying from the same person. So really, it's $100 per shipment. I'm not sure how much the permit to keep the Texas is.
