Terrestrials only?

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one here who is keeping terrestrial species only and not really interested in any arboreal T's?

I wouldn't be without my arboreals. Theyre such a contrast to my terrestrials.

31 of my 33 are terrestrial, so terrestrials are mostly what I'm interested in. Still, it's not bad to have 1 or 2 tree huggers around. If you try one and don't like it, you don't have to get any more.

Like I need an excuse to post pics.

Most of my arboreals. Missing Poecilotheria tigrinawesseli and Poecilotheria ornata. OP you're really missing out on some beautiful tarantulas.

Caribena versicolor.

Heteroscodra maculata.

Poecilotheria subfusca lowland.

Cyriopagopus hati hati.

I only have one arboreal currently, but that's just because i only have one shelf right now and having multiple big arboreal enclosures would take up space quick :)

I think my lass is in premoult. She's not been out in a while and she's out basically every night usually. She's really skittish though.
Both my pokies are little yet, and they are both fairly skittish. The P. metallica is a bit less so because of the web tunnels it has to retreat to. The poor little P. tigrinawesseli panics a bit more because her "hide" is crouching in the open against the cork bark. I love the entire genus, so I'm happy to catch a glimpse from time to time. Wonderful creatures.

When I've got some money I'm buying my Poecilotheria tigrinawesseli a smaller enclosure. Hopefully she'll actually come out of her cork bark tube then.

I have 36 Terrestrial Ts , so far haven’t felt comfortable enough to have anything else as I’d be worried they’d be to fast for me . That being said I have been looking at some Avics , and my daughter had one which she said I could have if I’m interested, so you never know ! So watch this space as they say .

Curious why you would post arboreal pics in a thread that specifically mentions a total lack of interest in such species.

Must be those beans messing with your mind.:D

What choice did I have? A member says they've no interest in arboreals? That's an illness Shirley?

You aren't alone. At this rate I have 6 Ts and they are all terrestrial/fossorial. My wife has cleared me to get another T and I am on the fence whether to get a arboreal or not. Its hard because its probably the last T for the forseable future :anxious:

An arboreal then. Easy.

When I started, I was really only interested in terrestrials with pokies being the only arboreals I'd ever be interested in. My first arboreal, a P. cambridgei named Oliver, completely changed my perspective and appreciation for arboreals as a whole. The speed, hunting ability, beauty, confidence and regular use of a water dish (not as a toilet or toy to flip) just blew me away. My first rehouse with him made me understand completely why so many keepers recommend a ladder system to go from NW to OW tarantulas. Terrestrials still makeup the majority of my tarantulas, but I couldn't imagine a "collection" without any arboreals. They just bring something to the table that terrestrials simply cannot.

Yeah I am with you.

I really like NW terrestrials and they make up the bulk of my small collection. I do have one avic and wouldn't mind another someday. I'm more interested in getting some more terrestrials though, currently planning on getting A. chalcodes and N. chromatus.
