Hey everyone, kind of a weird question. I fed my T. Albo earlier today and she went for it as usual, she's an amazing eater.
Tonight I noticed she was still eating but didn't see any remains of the roach, instead it looked like she was munching on some sphagnum moss which is in her enclosure. Is it normal behavior? I've taken a Pic but the quality is pretty bad, sorry. 20211212_212613.jpg

Probably using it to rearrange. Or it’s just tearing things up. It would be of no concern to me, personally

Could have gotten caught up in the bolus or maybe it's just moving it around like poonjab said but it's definitely not eating it.

Yeah thank you very much, she is now done and grooming herself as usual, I just found it funny that she had such a big piece in her mouth

I had one T eat over its molt, it’s one of those things you watch in horror thinking to yourself why didn’t I remove the molt sooner as you watch the molt being destroyed over the next several hours.

It can look like they’re eating things they shouldn’t, but my experience is substrate, moss, etc get entangled with the food and they know how to deal with it. Other times they are breaking things down to move things around and make their home the way they want it.

This happened to me when i fell asleep watching Netflix and accidentally allowed my tarantulas to watch cowspiracy. At least i can give them the same food i give my crickets now 😅

Sounds interesting, I’ll have to check it out. If it had a profound and mooving experience for you I should get something out of it. 😁

Well at first i thought it was udder nonsense and Netflix was just milking it for every penny, and this idea of cows filling up the atmosphere with methane was just hot air!

Then i watched seaspiracy and realised it was just a drop in the ocean and we need to make moves towards greener pastures before it's moo late🐮

I see, I see, pretty high steaks. I best get off my dairyere and start grazing through the menu for it.

It's rearranging things which T. albo's are known for.

My 2 T. albo's are the only T's I have that tear things up. They both tear the hell out of the contact paper I have covering air vents on the Kritter Keeper's lids.

None of my other T's have ever been destructive like these 2 boogerheads.
