Question seems common enough. And it's fun to ponder :)

Let's post actual sizes, not assumed or next to a lighter. I think at least within a few mm should be good :)

Leg span or body length, make it clear.

Most importantly, this is about spiderlings size compared to either say maturity or XX years old. Not really a different angle, after every molt type thing. But if someone has a recoiled of the exact same spider and size recorded at every molt absolutely welcome!

Let's try and keep it to very young/spiderlings and how fast they grow. Either at least a year apart or by maturity.

Please include:
Species name
Date
Size in cm (or inches for Americans)

A few to kick off. All are diagonal leg span. dd/mm/yyyy

Ceratogyrus darlingi - Confirmed Male
20/06/2023 - 1.5cm

03/10/2024 - 13cm

Harpactira namaquensis - Unsexed
20/06/2023 - 1.5cm

04/09/2024 - 9-9.5cm

Poecilotheria metallica - Unsexed
25/05/2023 - 2-2.5cm

03/10/2024 - 13.5cm

Still editing, finding notebook for size haha. Posting before my cellphone crashes my browser.
My fastest growing ones have been an LP, Nhandu carapoensis, V chromatus and T vagans

There’s a number of variables that shape a Ts growth rate. With the current info people will be mislead, thus not helpful at all.

@viper69 has a point because we are talking spiderlings.

Slow growing tarantulas like brachys and grammas can molt every month.

Not sure if this is the point of your thread: to share how quickly a sling molts. Its going to be quicker then juvie and up thats for sure.

It does not represent overall growth, even though it is interesting.

Not saying this is irrelevant.

My H pulchripes should be molting soon...hopefully. I'll be sure to get some nice pics when I can. I love the colours on them, just so vibrant and pretty.

I think @Kada is just trying to have some fun and not take any serious scientific data from this thread. It is interesting to see growth rates and it would be cool to see variance in growth rates across multiple keepers with the same species. I personally think it is an awesome idea for a thread.

What I mean is feel free to give more info.

Having photos and date stamps of slings and adults is just more fun than saying XX species matures in 2-3 years. Same thing, but with visuals. A lot of the fun with keeping these is watching them grow. To each their wonderful :)

Exactly. For fun. Most things discussed on forums won't be published and found on jstor. Just fun and gives a visual representation of everyone's experiences which cna help give people an idea of times much like text can :)
