I face palmed that he didn't use scientific names, and there were half a dozen crickets running around.

But aside from that... lovely mating!

I think he took the general audience, common name approach which is more appealing for that kinda show (i think)...the mating was cool as well.
Daily Planet is a good show imo.

I'm thinking the crickets were added right before taping at the request of Discovery, so they might get a chance to catch a feeding on video, or to make things a bit interesting since most of the tarantulas didn't move at all. That guy doesn't seem like the type who wouldn't know better. Nice vid, the spiders all look like they were being kept properly otherwise.

I seriously hope that's why there were enough crickets in there to feed a bunch of small lizards. And the zookeeper said that he started with the tarantulas in 1986, so you would hope he'd be well educated on their feeding by now.

True, and definitely not starving. The female that was mated sure had one big abdomen, which was good, because it probably helped the male go unscathed and gave the viewers a happy ending mating to watch.

It seemed that the cages were very clean so .. not the type of lefting the crickets there.. It looked nice.. and it was very nice informative specially for "comon" people. It refered that they harmless they are pretty .. you have to understand them and they said that everyone thinks they are evil but they are sweeties ;D
