We had one here in Arizona too. Kind of a crock as she bought slings from breeders to resell or "rehome"

When ever I hear of a "tarantula rescue" it often sounds like someone who's just looking for free spiders. Is there really a epidemic with that many homeless unwanted spiders that we need rescues? The cost and space of keeping a pet tarantula is basically nothing. They make no noise , they don't smell or pee on the floor, and they don't destroy prized possessions.

Every now and then when someone is looking to get rid of a Rose hair , I'll get the call. I really don't need another Rosie, but I can take on the responsibility of one more spider. Really whats one more lol? I'm sure any serious collector or breeder would feel the same way, no ?:?

If you really want to make a difference , invest your time and money by going to a shelter and adopt a dog or cat. I understand reptiles like Iguana's need rescue groups, and many small animals like rabbits.... but tarantulas? I don't get it.:?

Later, Tom

I agree further reading of the website it said they take in hundreds of T's but only adopt some of them and they take donations of supplies and enclosures lol its like wouldn't anyone take free substrate, enclosures.ect. if they where really a rescue they would adopt all the t's not just the ones they have copies of
