What's with you a lost palps man? Just kidding. I've got a P. striata and C. marshalli with missing legs. No big deal, doesn't worry me in the slightest. It's those broken fangs you gotta watch out for.

I think the "replacement" appendage would, like, lay flat under the skin. I mean it must, right? But exactly how and in what direction? who knows? Probably someone else smarter than me.

As I watched my B. smithi molt, I wondered the same thing because my B. boehmei molted and LOST a palp and a leg.

Here's what I think... but it's just conjecture... I think the new limb grows between the new layer of skin and the old or is compressed in the area where the previous limb was cut off. Then, during the molt, it fills out.

Its just what I was thinking while watching the molt. Could be right... probably completely wrong, but its a thought. LOL.

There may be something to that, like just skin folded up accordian style with little or no fluid. Could be...

Am I the only one who finds someone who posts on an internet forum complaining about reading ironic? ;)

LOL! Now that's funny!

To remain on topic... I'm waiting for the day that my 2-3" B. boehmei regrows its palp and leg. Still quite the stunner, but she'll look much more "pleasing" when she's whole again.

And I think its pretty darn amazing when a t molts out double the size it was before! That just gets me. I was totally wondering about the regenerated limb thing though.
