Tarantula only poops in water dish

Anyone else have tarantulas that seem to only poop in their water dish? My arboreals seem to be the worst with this, with my Avicularia juruensis girl the worst offender. They also love to place their boluses in their dish as well.

My N Tripeii took her water dish for a walk the other day and tried eating it. When I woke up next morning it was upside down right in the centre of her enclosure

They love to cause havoc on the water dish burying it or dropping bolas in it and doing whatever they want. My Phampho hid a dish in her hide for months.

Perhaps we can do some philosophy and think of water in the wild. Its moving. Regenerating. Drying. Refilling.

maybe some species do this instinctively.

its funny you bring it up. My nhandu color poops in her bowl. And last night, i was looking at the bowl i just refreshed and thought, there is no way i am the only one.

(thats not my nhandu. Thats one of my hamoriis being ungrateful)

I love hearing these stories. You can’t tell me tarantulas don’t have personalities.

They may not have brains like us, but they sure have their little quirky habits. As long as we don’t consider them as mammals or capable of human emotions, its fun.

Even if their biology is different, they are alive
