Hey everybody! I saw a tarantula in a store the other day, it was black and about a couple of inches leg span. The people there said that it came from Germany, I'm not sure if that meant that it was imported from Germany or is native to Germany? (I don't think there are any tarantulas native to Germany) Any clue what species it may be? I'll get a picture of it on here soon. It had done A LOT of webbing

Probably meant to be imported from Germany, but not native to Germany. My country is next to Germany so we have practically the same arachnofauna, only bigger species that we have and can look similar are Atypus sp., some Eresus or Lycosa.
Picture from friend of mine Stanislav Macik of Atypus

If it was a pet store where you found it. you cant be for sure. I have had a lot of employees tell me stuff that I couldnt believe. Or on the other hand, it might be the spider that was posted by Petross. I cant be for sure.

Germany is a pretty heavy supplier of CB T's relative to most other nations so I'd say it's not native to germany
