Do most tarantulas have 8 eyes or do some have 6 eyes? My b.smithi seems to have pretty good 360 degree vision. I have seen them flip around to catch their tastey roaches.

yes, most have 8 eyes, and yes, i believe some have 6 eyes if i remember correctly.

just to clarify, they don't use vision at all to catch prey, only vibrations. their hairs are extremely sensitive to the smallest vibrations, allowing them to detect and catch roaches/crix/whatever is moving and unlucky to be near a hungry T.
