I've heard that it aint so smart to put a cactus inside the enclosure cause the T can actually kill himself on it. True or false?

Common sense says true. Sharp spines in the limited captive environment probably equal eventual death more often than not....... I'm no authority though;), never put them together myself.

From what I know roseas are desert tarantulas. Therefor I thought of cactus.
Perhaps I'll go to a random plant shop and ask for a cactus'ish-nonspiked-plant :p

You can allways use dry bush similar to creosote bush (common desert plant) and sticks instead of live plants to create a nice looking "natural" set up

Its mainly because while confined in a cage, the T may climb the wall or lid, and fall on the cacti.
And while most falls to adult T's are dangerous, cacti just make it even worse.

so maybe wait until the spider has made a nice burrow for itself that it doesn't leave so often, and then plant the catus.

I have two peace lilies in my a. chalcodes' tank. I have a black thumb and they've lived almost a month with me already, lol. ;) My T likes to walk on her ceiling (there's only about 1 1/2 times her legspan height from the substrate) and she commonly uses the plants to climb back down. It is so freaking funny when she turns over onto one of the bigger leaves and then slowly slides down to the floor, pauses, and walks calmly away (to do it again later). ;)

Anyways peace lilies need little light and little water, but should be misted occasionally (and since I mist the tank anyways that's no big deal).

I also had that idea alredy. Someone told me that it is ok to use cacti with no spikes, usualy some of the family SUCULENTA. They look very nice if you do some google action.

Maybe read a thread before posting?

Try a succulent, related to cactus but without (usually) spines
however these plants need alot of light

Oooo, Im very sory for misbehaving...
The guy who told me that, keeps such plants in his terrariums with no problem. That is what he told me and there is no reason why not to trust him. Anyway, there is bunch of cacti with apsolutly no spines.
Because I am unexperinced I also have a question: Is it OK to use lights if we provide our T a colder and darker places inside the terrarium? (or this is also a wrong place to ask for answer?)
With all the respect

Not so much misbehaving, its just in almost every thread there are several post with the same answer. Its a little bit annoying.
True there are almost spine-free cacti but usally not so good in ma lowlight terrarium
Yes if the cage are large enough you use low watt bulbs/tubes then you can use light - but make sure to always provide water.

Whatever you put in the cage, don't get to attached to it,cause more than likely, it will get tipped over and bulldozed,or covered with webbing, good luck! later-Karl:D

i do agree with no spiny plants in a enclosure with any of my ts but in the wild tarantulas come in contact with them all the time. well for ts that live in or around cactuses. i mean green bottle blues for example live in and around huge cactuses. maybe they have evolved to be able to do so. idk its kind of a personal stand point but id never do it
