I have noticed a behaviour with my terrestrial tarantulas no matter the genus always sit identically at the exact same time in the enclosure on the front glass almost a complete mirror image of each other and always pointing in the same direction its pretty cool to see but i am just wondering how 3 completely different tarantulas all sit with their legs spread pointing in exactly the same direction even though they are also segregated on the shelf so they cannot see each other and its not always pointing the direction in the photo the ones in the photo are a t.vagans and a brachy boehemei but also my nhandu does the same any ideas for this behaviour?

My thoughts:
A) Coincidence
B) All orienting towards the same thing. Light source? I see a similar reflection towards the top right of the two upper cages.

Probably has to do with light levels, substrate moisture, and other environmental factors. Cool stuff 😎

Whats strange is tomorrow for instance the light and heat doesn't change but they will be sitting at the opposite side of the enclosure doing the same thing

its a light and heat thing. Sort of like plants but not for the same reason.

my brachys do that too.. especialy the slings.

tonight, everyone did weird thing.

they didnt do there thing. I had a guest. They only started doing their thing when guest was gone to bed.

its either their vibrations or the tarabtulas adaptation to the change of light due to the seasons.

i still found it funny that of all days that my tarantulas should chose to delay their outings for 3 hours, be the day a crazy member of my family stays over.

I had one Time all my Ts were sitting on glass minus the biggest two . Weird coincidence.. think it rained the day before . It’s in the middle of my pictures.

My grammastolas are like that. I know tarantulas aren't intelligent but some are just very docile. I want to say curious but that's the wrong word. When my G Pulchra was maybe 1.5" I had her in a Tupperware container. Whenever I peeled back the lid, she would walk to the side of the container and just pause inches away from my hand. Tarantula's usually retreat when given the chance, but she wasn't the least bit defensive or bothered. She's now about 3" and more skittish, but she will regularly walk to the end of her enclosure and hang out. Great display species
