Hello!! I’m currently designing an enclosure for a friend who’s getting an AFT (African fat-tailed gecko) and I’ve picked a theme that I’ll know she’ll love!! Wizards/magic!! I found this great little sticker of a Wizard fat-tailed gecko and that inspired me to make this!! Now... I’m not entirely sure how to do a themed tank that well... I usually make naturalistic, bioactive, vivariums. I’ve never done a themed tank before, so I was wondering; does anyone have any ideas of stuff to put in here?? I already know I’m adding this little cauldron water dish and I’m gonna get her that sticker... but that’s it! Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this a little more wizardy?? Without breaking the bank, of course.
(P.S. Also, I’m trying not to make this that heavy, cause I gotta ship it to Canada, so probably no slabs and stuff like that)

Maybe some light, non-toxic little gemstones/geode pieces? I’m pretty sure amethyst is non-toxic to pets. A big ol’ piece of bismuth would be a cool centerpiece, though I have doubts about the safety of such a thing. Will this enclosure be bioactive? If so, there are many species & morphs of isopod that look quite “magical”. Some cheaper examples are any of the more common P. scaber morphs (black & orange form dalmation, snow, even get a “lottery ticket” mix of morphs) and Porcellionides pruinosus “white out” or “orange”. A more expensive option, and the first one that came to my mind, was Armadillidium klugii, the clown isopod (common names, i know. but that one sounds pretty cool). Maybe not the most efficient cleaner crew when alone, but with some springtails, or even dwarf isopods (i’d be hesitant with those though, don’t want to outcompete the A. klugii), coupled with the fairly humid, warm environment AFT’s seem to prefer, they seem like a good fit. Hope this helps!

This helps a ton!! Thanks for the great tips!! And, no, it probably won’t be bioactive since my friend isn’t that into the idea of live plants.
