While doing yardwork, I found a wolf spider that I decided I want to keep as a pet. I believe it is a female, but not sure. I put it in a plastic jar with about 2 inches of organic potting soil and it quickly made it self a burrow, luckly at the edge of the jar so I can still see it. last night when I checked on it, I discovered that it has closed off the burrow and molted.

Right now I have a plastic soda bottle cap as a water dish, is this adequate? If not, what would be a better method of letting it get water. The biggest concern is that if the spider stays in the burrow, it might not go for any water and dehydrate. Would misting be more effective at getting it water?

i had the same encounter i found a wolf spider least 1 inch in size she made a burrow and made laid a egg sack but safly both of them die from unknown reason.. anyways i waould use a bottle cap with a nickle size rock in it so she dosent drown. Misting can be down but very lightly tho. Hope this helps.{D
