Hey everyone. Just recently added a whip scorpion to my arachnid collection! I'm pumped. Curious tho... can anyone tell me what which kind it is? I'd like to label it correctly and won't be content until it finally has one. Lol at my ocd. Anyways... any guesses?

Make sure you keep the substrate soaked. Medius need high humidity. They're more sensitive to their environment than d. diadema. I got mine at a Petco and they didn't know what they had. The terrarium was dry and the whips were pretty lethargic and dehydrated. Once I brought them home and put them in a stable 80% humidity, they bounced back. Great find by the way. Amby's are the coolest!

Thank you very much! I have a pretty tall 7 gal container I got from the container store and poked small holes in. I think it'll hold humidity pretty well, but I will be sure to spray often! Thanks for the tip!

You'll want to actually pour water onto the substrate. It needs to be saturated. Like soil in your yard after a rain. Do that, and keep minimal to mild ventilation, and you'll be good. Spray a corner or two a couple times a week at most. They'll be happy. They're also not too dependant on high heat, more so humidity. 70°-75°, dipping into the high 60's at night is totally fine. Good luck!

All true. I keep mine in very high humidity and it's thriving. I don't get crazy with monitoring the actual humidity, I just keep the sub soaked and mist the enclosure once a week.
