This is probably a dumb question So my T. Stirmi is always low to the ground I mean his/hers abdomen and carapace are not at body level and I’ve had it for about almost a month and it is settled in. There’s no prey bothering it there’s no mold it’s not hungry or anything like that, is it like that just because it wants to it is the substrate not moist enough I just don’t know

Seems normal.some of the best substrate I had was Komodos invertibed it was black but fine and powdery looked very natural /but even when moistened I'd noticed they tended to walk on tiptoes and stand taller.

Looks fine to me - it's not in a stress pose or anything, so nothing to worry about here. Most of my T's spend about 95% of their time in that exact position. I notice that they will stand with their bodies off the ground on days when it's warmer, they will elevate their bodies to allow airflow underneath them as a way to thermoregulate.

What's your concern? It looks like your spider is very content and chilling out. Let him vibe, and don't worry, yo.

Idk I just read that when a spider is calm they will keep their head and abdomen up at body level

Nope. Every spider is different and tarantulas are known to pose in ways that make them comfortable even if it looks "weird" to us, which is mostly because we are not tarantulas.

My Pamphobeteus always hang out like that (or in even weirder positions), but lash out like freaking possessed when anything disturbs them. Has got to do with them bigger spiders I suppose.
Just spray a bit water next to it. It should get back up on its feet, and flee, or stand its ground (or attack the droplets hah).

Yeah mine loves to freak out when I walk next to it and attack the water that I pour into its enclosure but even then I’d say it’s very docile a little skittish but super docile

Yeah you should be worried when a T has no reaction, not when it's got a weird stance. 😅 Your Stirmi looks really great as it is.

That’s one amazing looking pampho my Stirmi has never really stretched out that much and before knowing all this info if it had I would’ve gone into a bigger panic mode. How big is he cuase he looks HUGE

The molt before that I measured at 14.5cm (6"-), but it really grew a lot with that molt so probably a solid 16 cm now (almost 7"). Probably 1 or 2 molts away from maturity. He only retreats to its burrow when the sun is too harsh for him. Otherwise he prefers to stand or fight. 😅
