This morning, I done my checks on water dishes for all my spiders, noticed my T. blondi has again moved moss into it's waterdish, so I have to clean it.
I'm always careful with this spider, fastest spider I have.
Normally he hides.

Well, he must of been extra hungry as I was trying to remove the water dish he runs towards the vibration hoping for food, okay no problem, I put the lid back on the enclosure which spooks him into the hide.
I try again but remove the moss he darts out again grabs the moss from tongs, probably very disappointed it wasn't food.

Looks adorable but this thing is a crazy eating machine.
Anyone else have Ts like this?

I've had to start throwing food in my my female and close to lid. Since she last moulted she's turned ultra defensive. Kicks hairs at the slightest disturbance now.

Ah, the joys.
When i first got this lad he wouldn't go near live prey, after his last moult anything that touches the substrate is food.

Both my Lp and Genic will respond like you describe. I was filling the water dish for the Lp last night, and it climbed into the water dish, ignoring the fact that it was getting "rained on" in order to catch whatever was there. I looked back a few seconds later and it was still in the dish trying to fang the water. I felt bad and gave it a super...

I've also been able to lead the Genic around the enclosure by dropping water drops. It investigates every. single. one. It's one of the funniest creatures I've interacted with. It's cute now, but once it gets into the adult sizes it will be pretty intimidating, haha.

Sounds typical for the theraphosas. My stirmi and apophysis are among my best eaters out of my collection, they do not mess around when it comes time to eat.

My highly strung madame taken through the lid. Honestly don't know what's got into her.

Most of my NW terrestrials do this lol. Just wait until your blondi grows up, only gets worse as they grow. ;)
