it is the state a male puts a female into, so that she won't eat him and they can get some mating done.

probably initiated by a series of chemotactile signals from male

Mating trance...

This is true. The female (in most cases) goes into a "trance" like this so the male can inseminate her. Often, after he is done and long gone she will remain like this for a while. In this case 20 minutes. Perfect for taking photos.

it is off subject a bit but when i mated my p.regalis...the female which was huge was very aggresive....as we put the male on the vivarium she went on the underside top and tried to reach him...at that moment my friend touch her and she was in a realy trans state that i would say had become docile for that second....goodluck for the breeding
