i have no idea what it is doing in there, but any time i give my t. albo water, the substrate gets soaked. i am not pouring any water into the substrate myself, it is the spider. ive tried different types of water dishes and it doesnt matter the size or depth, the water is still no longer in the bowl within a few hours of placing it in there. is this normal? should i stop giving it water when the substrate is already wet?

also note that the water dish is never tipped over or moved at all, and it isnt a leak as ive tried multiple different dishes

Try searching the forum- you’ll easily find the answer ;)

It’s very very common

If any web or sub is touching the side of the dish, water will quickly wick out of the dish.

This happens to my B. hamorii's water dish, and for the longest time, I was confused because it didn't look like there was any substrate or webbing that could be wicking it away, but it turns out that she actually does lay down very fine threads of webbing all around that are invisible to the naked eye. So, even if you don't see anything that could be the culprit, it's likely that there is still webbing there that's doing it. When I notice it happening, I pull the dish out and give it a scrub with plain water, and that takes care of it until she does it again. Rinse and repeat.

You will just have too work around it. Because it won’t stop anytime soon.

You can try placing the bowl somewhere else. Putting it deeper. These are all things we try.

At one point, if the enclosure is small and the substrate is too wet, youll have to let it dry.

If its a sling, it will be fine for a while without a water bowl is substrate is overstaturated.

Of its an adult, you can study its behavior. Sometimes substrate level not high enough. Or bowl to close to hide opening.
