Superworm can't die.

Hey guys i am used to feeding pre killed superworms to my slings, but this time, it ain't dead

Ok, I'll Explain, i used to drown my superworms for "minutes" before feeding them to my Slings, since my slings were too small and I need a way to kill a superworm as quickly as possible and i'm expecting it not to swim or hold its breathe, then i cut the super worm in half in order to make sure its dead and my slings would eat it, the problem is, i place the head of the super worm in the burrow of my sling thinking its dead and then it sprung alive while it digs its way into the substrate, it nearly attacked my sling which is smaller than half its body and I had to dig my sling to safety. is there anyway to kill it?

right now my sling is having a field day with it, while "it" just turn to look at the light im shining in the enclosure, creepy

edit: i swapped it with a smaller piece of superworm and i put "the" superworm in my bigger sling enclosure just to watch it get rip by the Orange Bitey Thing.

Always crush the heads on superworms while feeding live his will prevent burrowing. No need to drown them, just sever their head to kill.

I just chop the head straight off. Haven't had one live through that yet. Drowning it doesn't sound fast or convenient.

i dont bother cutting off the head. waste of time and spider food. also their guts squirt out when you pick them up and their heads off. again, waste of food.

Always crush the heads. i use pliers or the back of my tongs against my desk.

Use your tongs and crush its head. That's the quickest, easiest way to kill them. I personally hate killing anything but when I do, I always try to do it the fastest way possible, thus not resulting in the poor thing suffering. Just my opinion and the way I do it.

I used to just cut my worms in half and feed... but i noticed that the tail end would be dead.. but the head end would still be alive and crawling around.. my 3/4 inch slings would never touch it cuz its probably too intimidating..
So now, like u mentioned, i just crush the head and feed.

Oh yeah... the head doesnt matter anyway.. none of my 11 t's including my sub adult obt eat the head.. whatever is left over is always the head.. they just want the juicy body fluids.

Thats odd. I cut the head down to the legs off and always feed that to one of my slings I like watching attack feeders (because the legs will still move even after cutting off) and they all have eaten the entire thing, at the end being a tiny white bolus left.
