I don't know if they've started breeding, I've never seen any mounting. I remember reading about a ratio for breeding them, is it true? Is having 1 male for 4 females effective? I have 4 males and 16 females in my enclosure with about 20 males in their own box waiting to be freed. I don't know of it's unnecessary. I finally got a mealworm beetle, that's pretty cool.

Ive heard that you have to put them in a tote with a mesh bottom so the eggs fall through the grate otherwise they eat them. I tried breeding super worms but didnt have any luck. The smaller meal worms that you can refridgerate on the other hand ive had great success with.

Mealies, Tenebrio molitor, won't cannibalize as readily as Supes, Zophobas morio. You need to keep larvae, pupae, and beetles seperate. Large larvae need to be separated in order to pupate but really let them grow out first or they may just die when separated.

I've never bothered sexing. Keep all the beetles together. As long as they're well fed they'll be fine. Each stage takes roughly 1 month egg 》pupae 》larvae 》beetle. Baby worms are extremely tiny in size and if your using sub it may be a bit before you notice any. Unless you sift through the sub.

"Did you know superworms need to be isolated to pupate." - moron

I already know, how do you think I got the beetles?
