There are very few specialty pet stores in my area, and none of them are currently stocking any tarantulas that I am interested in. I am considering ordering them online, but am a little bit skeptical because I don't get to see the tarantula first and how its kept, or meet the seller. The last thing I want to do is wind up with a sickly T. How well do they travel? And does anybody have any suggestions on good places to get them from?

There are a lot of reputable breeders out there.

But generally people on this site keep their T's relatively in good conditions. I know I do anyways. But we are on this forum for a reason, to better ourselves and the hobby. So I wouldn't be too worried. However if they are in poor conditions it wont matter! You're going to buy it and put it into a good cage! Just go stroll through the WTB section and see what sparks your attention.

I was super scared to order a T online at first. It's easy to see why...shipping a fragile arachnid quickly and having the package being tossed around often by careless drivers. (Especially slings, 10x more fragile) I just read through reviews and watched videos about an online dealer that was reputable and decided to make a smaller purchase. Both t's arrived healthy thanks to careful packing work.

But yeah, all I can say now is repeated suggestions...check reviews, compare pricing, etc.

If you want to meet and greet a reptile expo is a good place.

T's ship very well, if they're in a styro box and packed snug with a lot of padding in the container. Every dealer/breeder knows how to pack properly, as they don't want to be replacing losses.

As stated above check the FS section and also the review section. Depending on where you're located in MN, there are a few of us that are located around the twin cities that maybe able to help you out, depending on what you are looking for. :)
