That's a P. regalis.

It's easy to learn the scientific names if that's what you teach yourself. When you look up species and decide that you want them, associate the picture with a scientific name instead of the common name. Look up the binomial name and use it to label your enclosures so that you see it whenever you look at the T.

Oh, and back on topic - congrats on the successful transfer. ;) Once or twice my pokies have been pretty nerve-wracking to move. heh

Congrats on the x-fer, sometimes it can just go wrong but you got it done :D.

As for the common names, they are truly useless. If you learn the scientific names you will see how much better it is.

to each their own, i don't want to start another debate on what names to use and i can see how common can be confusing, as i have two orange species that might be the same just different common names. Someone**cough roboc cough** should do a video with proper pronuciations, then i will use them, until i want to use them i shall use what i want and if it will just tick ppl off on here, then i rather be someplace else. You can lead a horse to water..........

heh Robc is no expert "pronouncer"...plus, that would be a lot of names to cover.

There is a website that has sound clips of scientific name pronunciations, but I can't find it right now. Will look into it later.

Congrats on getting it moved. I'm sure your P regalis will like those new digs.

As for the common vs scientific name thing; Of course you're free to use whatever names you want, call 'em "late for dinner" for all I care. Just don't be surprised if every thread you make starts out 5 or 6 posts of "Ok, now which species is this exactly..."

I switched to sci names when i got into fish, it's a great way to have people who know any exotic animal hobby know what you you talking about, and a good way to sound intellegent/pompous/arrogant in front of your friends. My friends always yell at me when i talk about my animals cause they have no clue where im going with the sci names, but they have to learn somtime;P
