Hi all,
First time prospective beetle owner here. I was planning on purchasing a blue death feigning and a diabolical ironclad beetle. Before doing so, I've been trying to get a full understanding on how to create the most enjoyable environment for them before bringing them home.
I've been reading up on various substrates (plan on housing 2 total beetles in a one gallon tank) and narrowed down what seems to be the most recommended ones. While each of these substrates have instructions on their pages, I haven't been able to find specific instructions on how to layer, what else to layer with, etc. for these beetles specifically. Would someone kindly share their experiences/best practices for this initial step of the process?
I'll list the substrates I've identified below; please feel free to suggest others if you think there are better options. I'm really looking to create the most authentic environment I can for these fellas!
Thank you!
