Darn thing tore its molt to pieces!

I was feeding the zoo and going through regular rounds
and found that my A. seemanii had pushed its shed out.
I reached in to get it and "Digger" took it! Back down the hole it went, just like his food. Then he tossed it out, one piece at a time.:( I hardly ever see him so I guess I'll NEVER know if he's a
he or a she! GRRRRRR!

We have an Iridopelma hirsuta that is notorious for doing that same thing. By the time she kicks out her molt it is in pieces. We have had to wait until she was on the side of the enclosure to get a look. Luckily she stays put long enough for us to see her private no-no place.

Well,
Speaking from experience..my A. avicularia will shred its molt into teensy, tiny pieces, everytime. :( One of these days, I'll figure out what sex it is..
Peace,
Gillian
