Most of us know to take out prey if it hasn't been eaten in 24 hrs.. I was just checking on my T's while feeding some of them and was ecstatic to see that my Phormictopus sp. "purple" looked to be molting for the 2nd time in my care. I opened the lid to find a cricket in with it. The T isn't moving and it looks like it's missing a fang. I removed the cricket immediately, but I'm afraid it's too late.

I always check my T's after I've fed them to make sure they ate. This one looked fatter than before I fed it so I left it alone. My mistake. This sucks!! I'm going to leave the T alone for awhile and hope that it starts to move.

I hope that someone else will learn from my stupid mistake and not have this happen to them.

Oh man! I hope your T is okay!

That is a good lesson for everyone. I have to go home and check my lividum soon. If he hasn't eaten I must steal the cricket without getting nommed. 0.o

Ouch, I hope the little one makes it! Thats one reason I can't stand crickets, they will start munching on a T, roaches on the other hand leave them alone thankfully.

The little guy/girl didn't make it unfortunately. It's been a rough week. My girlfriends versi got stuck in a molt and now this. It happens though. I just wish it wasn't so hard to find these Phormictopus sp. "purple". I know where to get them now, but I'm short on the cash end. Hopefully they'll still be around a month from now.

Thanks, for the kind words everyone. I'm thinking of trying to feed my slings the roach nymphs from my colony to see if they'll eat them like they have the crix.

That's unfortunate. I'm sorry. Well good luck with the roaches. When it comes down to it I really think spiders will eat most anything smaller than them.
