This girl was found wandering outside of our home for the past couple days, so we took her in. We've got fliers up declaring we've found a dog and to call and identify her, but no calls yet. I have to go back to Tucson for school soon, hopefully the rest of the household will take care of her. She's an awesome dog, just a bit skittish! A few pics:

That was cool of you to take her in like that!!! That can be pretty overwhelming. Ppl are always bringing me strays and lost birds and such... I hate it. I dont want to be responsible to find a home or care for any more than I have now...

How do you keep a dog in AZ?? My brother is moving there and hes taking his dog. Can they stay outside in the summer with out dying? If they have shade and water of course. Hes worried about that.

She is very cute, that's great you took her in before she got injured or heat exhaustion. If you cant find her owners are you going to keep her?

It can be done (keeping a dog outside during the summer in Arizona), but it's not something I would do or recommend. It would have to be a dog with a thinner coat too, not a huskie or something! But yes, it can be done. There does obviously have to be shade and lots of water. They will drink lots of water! Our dog is an inside dog, he lets us know when his bladder is calling. :D Also, critters are a worry. Where I'm at, there's coyotes and bobcats. I heard a story of a little dog that was tied up in the back yard during the night that became a snack for something...pretty sad. There's also rattlers and scorpions to worry about. For these reasons I would recommend training the dog to be inside, but that's for your brother to decide!

Like I said, I have to go back to my new apartment in Tucson in a few weeks, so it will be up to the rest of the household as to whether or not she'll stay. It wouldn't be fair to take her to Tucson, I don't have the space for her. I hope they keep her, but since I won't be taking care of her and paying for her supplies, it's not up to me. Keep your fingers crossed!
