My stick insect eggs are hatching from my indian stick insect. two babies have hatched so far and i would like some pointers on getting the most of the batch of eggs there are about 50-60 eggs. I have them in a small jar with sand as substrate and no moisture I always have fresh lettuce in the jar.
Hi, I just had my indian walkingstick eggs hatch about a month or two ago and all but about 4 hatched (out of 75ish). If you want them to hatch, you're going to need moisture. I kept them in a small tuperware container, with paper towel as the substrate. I put a few holes in the top for air exchange, but not too much. Then I sprayed them for water about once a week and the paper towel help retain the moisture. If it's too dry in there, the nymphs will have problems bending and sliding out of the shell. Hope that helps.
