Hi!
I have a question about the steatoda grossa.

This spider is new to my country and it looks like this is the most vemonous spider in this country right now.

The goverments organisation isnt realy telling me the right information about the spider.
They tell me the spider wont be able to bite through the skin, however lately they said in a news report they could bite through skin but there are no reports of that happening yet in my country.

Im afraid i would be sensitive to its toxic just like i am with bees and muscitos, but most of all im afraid for my cats.

The problem is that i have several spiders of this species in my home now, and im not sure if i have to remove them, there are a lot in my bedroom, im not sure if i should check my sheets every night before sleeping, the last thing i want is one of them bite me when im sleeping or something.
But theyre also in every closet in every corner, im afraid i would stick my hand in one of their mouths becouse they feel threatened when i reach for something in my closet.

Does anyone know the nessesairy steps to take with a spider like this? Should i be carefull? And my cats, are they safe?

Kind regard

Really good video on Steatoda's in general, goes over a lot about how they behave and what we know and don't know about their venom. Would recommend checking it out, his videos are very well researched and will give you a very balanced take.

They are harmless, people are just sheep and like to fear monger. My house is filled with them, behind every toilet.

People are being Mislead in many ways by the 'Corporate Run Media'. (no news is good news)

Suffice to say, house spiders are beneficial.

Welcome to the Boards.
Best Regards ,

and here's to lessening your mild case of arachnophobia, knowledge is Key.

All media is evil. It's bought and paid for by the billionaires who can afford to influence the discourse. One of my favorite comedians Sam Hyde had a skit about "Kill journalists" obviously we're not killing anybody, but journalism has turned into a corrupt ASF profession. Truth has not been reported for many years. Its all varying degrees of lies, and youre lucky if you find a source with the least lies.

They're there. In your state you'll have to go to much more remote places to find them, though.
