this was at the Ks state fair a couple of years ago
Anyone know what kind of snake it is? I don't know anything about large snakes but I thought it would be interesting to post the pictures of this one. Well the links anyway.

How much do you think that thing weighs?? I know I put on there about 200lbs but it's got to be more than that. It's very large! They told us it ate about 2-3 large rabbits a week.

If you mean the one on the first page there its a Python reticulatus, reticulated python. considered to be the worlds longest snake species, reach up to 10m but that one dont come close to that size (even though its big). The weight isnt as much as a green anaconda (which are more bulky) of the same size but enough :)

WOW! They get bigger than that?? That would be a sight to see!
I kinda want to see it eat a goat or something else fairly large. I'm sure a snake that size would have no problem tackling a goat.

There's a video floating around the web of a big retic taking down a springbok. I've seen the vid several times.

People that have these pythons usually feed them rabbits cos of availability but small goats, lamm, piglets are a welcome diet when they reached 5m or more. Im glad I dont have to do the mocking after the food comes out the natural way...

LPacker, I think thats a african rockpython, P. sebae. Still a huge snake!

That is a huuuuuge retic....
Jus me but it seems kindof over-fat? :?

Personally i'd be hesitant having a python that size in public...maybe a burm or something but arent retics supposedly somewhat unpredictable?

Ah well, they say it was recently fed, i guss that accounts for the fatness and would make her calmer
