So I'm still pretty noob, but my little Cancerides just molted upright, standing on some stones. Pretty wierd choice for a molt. It flipped up and back from the old skin, ending up on it's fresh back on the stones. Didn't look to comfortable to me... Then it also proceeded with eating it's exuvium...normal?

Pretty normal. I've read this from "The Tarantula Keeper's Guide" by Shultz and Shultz. Though it's imperative that you shouldn't bother a molting Tarantula. They get startled and might molt in an awkward position. But everything went well didn't it?

Heh, I'm actually reading that book at this very moment! Good book I must say, makes you love your little ones even more. Yes, everything seem to have gone well.

That's good to hear. Unfortunately, some forumers say that the book is quite outdated. So i also bought Barron's Tarantulas and other Arachnids. :D
