My babies...thought to introduce them all here.

My newest baby, Dorian. Just getting him into his new enclosure,

which was awesome, and he seems to love it! 20240913_192509.jpg

Great way to introduce oneself! These are my babies...obviously they aren't babies anymore! But, thriving adults, and we'll, one juvie. Love this site in helping me raise them! 20240627_172312.jpg 20240627_172147.jpg 20221227_131310.jpg 20221030_122940.jpg 20201224_213513.jpg 20240913_194226.jpg

Your T are cute, don’t handle them unless you’re ready to risk them dying or falling. I also wouldn’t recommend rocks in their enclosures like in the final pic

All good! Little Dorian has moved the pebbles to the bottom of his enclosure and webbed them up with substrate...making a fine hide den for himself! That is what usually happens when I provide small pebbles for my newbie T's to play with. That.. or they chuck them in the water bowl. Lol.

Yes, Izzhe is! Or iz he iz! Lol. 😉 Had him about 2 years now, and just re-housed him. Very interesting habits this guy has...always makes web cocoon for himself, very shy, but very docile. Moderate eater, but very sweet. Has lost some of his brighter coloring, but is not ready for a molt for a while. Expect coloring to return for a bit right after his molt. Hopefully! But, love him in any shade. 😊

Ya know...Izzhe might be a versa tho. Just as an after thought.🤔
versicolor don't have pink toes. I'm definitely not the authority on avics but he looks nothing like versis I've raised up. He would have been bright blue has a sling too. Like the X-men character Beast lol

Great pics though. I've used rocks in enclosures before myself and never had an issue. As long as they can't shift and crush the spider it should be fine. Some of the videos I've seen of them in the wild they make their burrows under big rocks. My own thought on that is maybe the sun heats the rocks up during the day and then they hold the heat longer throughout the night than a log or exposed burrow straight into the dirt would. No idea though!

Good to know! I'll go with my original thought then! And, yeah...I've never had issues with rocks, or pebbles either. My little guys just move them around like furniture in an apartment and make their own spaces more homey! 😉
