I got bit by one of those little guys at a reptile show, and he wouldn't let go. It was quite funny. Nice snake.

After the ball python, these make the best pet pythons in my opinion.

Nice snakes! I will buy a pair of them next week! Are they feed well as hatchlings?

Nice snake, I have a pair. Not yet mature but hope to breed them soon. Any advice on breeding?

Wait a tic, I thought Spotted Pythons were simply an eastern variety of Liasis childreni? I have a breeding pair that I keep together, they seem to get randy around wintertime. Unfortunately my male was sick all winter last year wiht a respiratory infection that just wouldn't give in and he was shooting blanks the whole time. Here is a pic of my kid brother holding mine.

ohh cool :)

If im not mistaking, on the picture in which your brother is holding the snake, it seems to be having a small rainbow sheen, like the columbian rainbow boa!
Forgive me for my following commend, but i CANT refrain from commenting lol
I followed the body of the snake all the way from the tail to its head and cant help but noticing that your brothers 'zip' is open :p
lol but they ARE nice snakes indeed!

My stepson had a spotted python (Antaresia maculosa) that I had to take care of whenever he is away. It had such a defensive attitude that we finally traded it out for blue-tailed skinks to someone who wanted a snake with attitude. (Hey, Chris, how's it doing?)

Hey Elizabeth, its doing great, has calmed down 100% now, my handicapped little brother(I say little, he's 21 but to me he will always be my little brother) handles him all the time and loves him to death, as do i and my girlfriend.. and my roommate, who was convinced before meeting this snake, that the only python worth having was a green tree python.. he changed his mind.. i love him/her to death.. how are the skinks doing? i have 2 more adults now.. im planning on catching enough before season is out, to captive breed some next year, they are pretty cool.

Spotted pythons are nippy as babies but as adults you will be hard pressed to find one that will bite. Constriction isn't anything to worry about because with their size a 6year old girl could overpower them and like I said, they are extremely docile. They are very easy to care for and are an excellent beginner species. Salmonella isn't something to worry about unless you don't clean their tank because in all honesty the chicken that your parents feed you is crawling with a thousand times more than you would ever find on a healthy well cared for herp. The only real reason that your parents would have to stop you from keeping one would be a completely unjustified fear of snakes which both mine have. Mine however learned after 17years that it is better to nurture than to allow fear to get in the way of your child and I am studying in college to become a herpetologist because they were so nurturing and put my interests ahead of their fears.
