Hey I have grass spider spiderlings, I was wondering if I feed them fruit flies, which I have been doing, do they still need water?

They will most likely still need some H2O, yes. Whether they are housed communally, or individually, you can just make a little ball of toilet paper and soak it then set it in the enclosure- the little guys should drink from it. Good luck!

Another good way to provide water is by misting their enclosure.

FrogmanJ,
Not that it really needs to be said, but take the above advice with some caution. I don't mean disrespect to Skypainter, and I'm not sure which species you're actually referring to, but most true spider slings are small enough that misting "improperly" can potentially drown them. Even a very small bead of water coming in contact with an early instar spider could adhere to the specimen and drown it. For this reason I consider the moist paper towel balls to be a sound alternative. That said, If you go the misting route, set your spray nozzle on the finest mist setting possible, and hold your bottle several feet away from the enclosure when spraying. This is all common sense, but I find that sometimes it can be beneficial to hear it anyway.

Regards,
-Matt

Well I have started to split them up. I have 20 in sepearate vials and the other 20-30 are still housed communally. Is it ok for them to be housed communally or will they eat each other? In the vials I placed one drop of water in each, and 4 of the 20 drown (drownded?). I do see the ones communally drinking from their water soaked paper towel. Ok with that said, I will continue to give them water. What am I going to do with 50 grass spiders?
