haha wow that is actually quiet interesting. I don't know what could explain in besides it actually likes being touched.

Heres my guess though, maybe it has mites or some other tiny parasite that are bothering it and scratching or "tickling" it makes it feel better just like we feel better when we scratch our itchy spots. I'm just tossing things out there.

That's a bit of a stretch don't you think?

That is a cool video though. It really does look like it is leaning into his finger like a cat would when you pet it. Does not mean it "likes" it though, I think it's just reacting mildly
I bet that guys hands are on fire now too. Those buggers are itchy!

Yea, but that doesn't mean you have to kill the fun..

Yes in reality, it probably is just some kind of reaction that it is sensing for it's setae(spelling). Who know, it is amazing though! Or some kind of defense mechanism.

That is a defense mechanism. Anyone who has owned an adult Bicegoi will tell you they are ITCHY! The person who is doing that in the video will be in some serious pain very soon. They look soft and fuzzy but there is a price to be paid. :embarrassed:

That is a defensive behaviour, which I have seen from my A. huriana. The spider is actually aiming its abdomen in the direction that it senses the threat, so that it can poo on it. You know, the whole poo shooting defense mechanism that Avicularia sp. are famous for, that is what taking aim looks like.

It could also be pressing its abdomen down on her finger with the intent of rubbing its urticating hairs on her.

The above 2 posters are right - Avics will turn their bum towards an aggressor.

My purpurea and versicolors did this as well.

So I wonder why it didn't shoot poo at the person scratching? Were they moving from side to side to much for the T to take aim?
I wonder if the next video is going to be of the scratchers, red, inflamed fingers? That was really brainless.

Who doesn't like a bum rub?

Amazing video! Whatever the T is doing, it doesn't matter - she seems content.

The spider's probably content because it's saying to itself "haha you're gonna regret that, buddy. have an itchy day!"

Except that this "great companion" is shoving its urticating hairs into the flesh of something that's bothering it. Avics generally can't/don't kick them, so they shove them right in.

The people who made this are a bit slow.

Whatever is happening it is pretty cute.

Calling people abit slow is harsh tbh, might want to be abit more respectful.

Expert mumbo jumbo

Reminds me of what someone told me.

Scientists who see Auroras just see electrons being excited by the sun.

Regular folks see beauty.

Same here, you guys say "blah blah blah it's going to attack you"

If someone wanted to put their hand on a pretty stovetop, I'd tell them they were being foolish, too.

Do regular folks in your world look at a dog with bared teeth and write poetry about it, or do they stop bothering the dog?
